The Gorn Republic was a minor galactic power inhabiting the Rak Sector with its capitol on Rak 4. It's major allies were the Dread Conglomerate, Sluagh Empire and Tragolite Federation. The Dread Conglomerate and Sluagh Empire, and Gorn Republic combined formed the CGSA, or Conglomerate Gorn Sluagh Alliance.

The Republic was formed in the Star Wars Galaxy after a scouting fleet led by Captain Glagh Pshad went through a wormhole connecting the two galaxies and lost contact with the Gorn in their home galaxy. Taskforce leader Pshad, with the help of Commander Ace Kaelton and the Dread Conglomerate, managed to find and colonize a Rak 4 in the Rak Sector.

The system was already inhabited, although, with Sluagh. Although at first tensions were high, the Sluagh and Gorn managed to forge an alliance, and combine that alliance with the Dread Conglomerate.

The CGSA reached its peak in a brief war with the Dark Scorpion Empire, but quickly faltered after that. The Dread Conglomerate pulled back most of its military support in favor of bolstering its own borders, and the Sluagh economy was flooded by the growing Gorn currency. The Gorn politically dominated the Sluagh, and the Conglomerate extracted itself from the regional economy.

This set up the Republic for civil war, when the Black Crest seceeded with its own fleet and attacked the Republic under the flag of the Gorn Empire. The secession of ships severely weakened the Republic fleet, and the Sluagh fleet was in disrepair from its weakened economy. The Sluagh could not support the Republic very well, and the Dread Conglomerate put false faith in the Republics ability to defend itself. The war tore apart the sector, leaving billions dead. The Gorn Empire disappeared, assumed destroyed, but the Gorn Republic and Sluagh Empire were critically injured. Their requests for aid from the Dread Conglomerate were unheeded for a long period of time.

The damage done in the Rak sector would not go unpunished. The Gorn Republic was put to an end by the Ptolemaic Empire, who invaded and drove out the Gorn. The Gorn Republic has not been heard from since in the Star Wars Galaxy.
