Humans are the most numerous and dominant species in the Star Wars Galaxy, with apparently millions of major and minor colonies galaxywide. They were one of the first species to develop the hyperdrive (Corellians being the first to do so). By this time humans were already present on a few scattered worlds throughout the galaxy, which implies that they had a slower means of interstellar transport for a while earlier.

According to mythology, the human homeworld is Coruscant.

Humans live on many different worlds throughout the galaxy, with many populations living alongside aliens on other worlds, or together with several other species—something which is most common either on the cosmopolitian worlds at the core, or on the frontier at the Outer Rim of the galaxy, such as on Tatooine.

Humans also come from the Milky Way Galaxy, Earth, although their genetic corroboration is unexplained. The most common theory is convergent evolution, thus two species that, when put under nearly identical stimuli and selection pressure, developed the same physical structure, i.e. Aardvarks, Anteaters, and Echidna.

Humans also come from the planet Geb in another alternate universe.
