A Galaxy spanning some 100,000 light years wide. Home of the United Federation of Planets.

 

The Milky Way is divided into four major areas: the Alpha Quadrant, Beta Quadrant, Gamma Quadrant and Delta Quadrant, each of which comprise one-quarter of the galaxy.

 

By 2365, the Federation had charted only nineteen percent of the galaxy.

Only one out of every 43,000 planets in the galaxy support intelligent lifeforms.

 

There is a mathematical probability of three million Class M planets in the galaxy.
